THE LAB / THE PRACTICAL LIMITS
A starting point.
A clearer conversation.
Effective September 29, 2026. These terms explain how to use ElectricBill.ca, a free Home Energy Lab that is part of HAUSE.
What the site provides.
The calculator and field notes provide general information and illustrative energy scenarios. Inputs remain your responsibility. A scenario is not a verified utility bill, retailer recommendation, contractor quote, electrical design, roof assessment or guarantee of costs, savings or production. Read Numbers and sources for the model’s assumptions and omissions.
The site is Alberta-first. Markets, tariffs, programs and interconnection rules in other provinces differ. Prices and program references carry dates; linked providers can change their terms. Confirm current information directly before acting.
Before making a commitment.
Use your actual bill and current contract terms when comparing suppliers. Consult a qualified professional about electrical capacity, wiring, equipment sizing, permits and solar installation. Do not rely on this calculator for work that needs an inspection or professional assessment.
ElectricBill.ca is not an electricity retailer, regulator or government program. Sending a HAUSE enquiry does not enrol you in a utility plan or enter an installation contract. Any paid service requires a separate agreement with the service provider.
Use the lab respectfully.
Use the site for lawful purposes. Do not submit someone else’s contact details without their authority, send spam, or attempt to interfere with the site or its services. You may save, print and share your Energy Passport for your own planning. Keep its assumptions and estimate labels attached when sharing it.
Availability and changes.
We aim to keep the lab useful and accurate, but access, source pages and features can change or be temporarily unavailable. We may correct the model and update these terms. Nothing on this page limits rights you have under applicable law.
